Family trip to the zoo!
Dec. 8th, 2008 | 12:38 am
My parents, my sister and I went to the Zoo today. Well, it was quite an odd choice of a place to go to, I guess, considering that both my sister and I are no longer children. But I always have loved looking at animals and it has been more than 4 years since my last trip to Taman Safari, so the zoo it was!
I thought that the trip would be a dud, but it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. I really enjoyed myself.
Although today is a Sunday, the one and a half hour ride was almost free of traffic, which was a really good thing. I really didn't want to repeat the experience of spending 3 hours for a 1 1/2 hour drive.
At the zoo itself I:
1. fed pinguins
2. saw 2 Komodo dragons being fed live chickens
3. was almost tempted to take pictures with baby tigers, which my sister
actually did. Those baby tigers were the cutest things ever! I kind of
regret that I didn't have pictures of me carrying those baby tigers taken.
Well, the thing is, I'm not great at dealing with animals. I like looking
at them, but touching them is another matter altogether.
4. had an orangutan smile and reach out his/her hand to me asking for food. I
never knew that they could smile!
5. Got freaked out when I saw a white mouse in a snake enclosure. I actually
shrieked! How embarrasing. >.< I really rather deal with reptiles than
rodents. They give me the creeps.

Icon Resources Credit Post

I've been experimenting with icon making for the last few days. Since there are times when I use textures/patterns/brushes from more than 1 source for 1 icon, I find it hard to credit the makers in the icon keywords. So, in this post I'll be listing all the wonderful people or places from where I obtain the resources.

I have started collecting Clamp in 3D-Land figures as they are just so cute. I bought 3 sealed boxes from Vol 1 for S$24 and got 2 CCS Syaoran and Kazahaya from Legal Drug. Actually, I was hoping for Yuuko and Chii. As they seemed to be quite bulky, I chose those boxes that were quite heavy. Still, I ended up with Syaoran and Kazahaya. T.T
When I reached my dorm room, I went online and searched for Singapore based sites that sold the complete set. I figured that I would save shipping money that way. Indeed I found 2 sites that sold Clamp in 3D-Land. None of them had the 1st set though, so I googled for stores that are located in my home country and I actually found one! Each figure was priced at approximately S$7.7. Fortunately, the store itself is only about 2 hrs ride from where I live. So I called home and asked my parents to purchase the rest of Vol 1 characters for me. Phew, lucky me. I saw somewhere on the net that the complete set of Vol 1 was sold at US$200+ as it is considered to be rare.

| You Are a Good Friend Because You're Honest |
![]() Like it or not, your friends are going to hear the truth from you. You know that the truth hurts, but living a life of lies is much worse. So while you're definitely kind and supportive, you don't pull any punches with your friends. Everyone knows where they stand with you. And what you like and dislike about them. While some may be initially turned off by your honesty, your friends have come to consider it a virtue. After all, in world of white lies and deceptive politeness, you can be counted on for honesty and integrity. Your friends need you most when: They need good advice or an intelligent opinion You really can't be friends with: Needy, emotional people Your friendship quote: "True friendship can afford true knowledge. It does not depend on darkness and ignorance." |

3 Exams down, 2 more to go. I really should get to studying, instead of scouring the internet looking for Hakkai x Goujun fics. But I just can't help it!!!!! They are such a hot couple, well, besides Hakkai x Sanzo. But of course, there are almost no fics about those pairings. Why do I have to have a liking for 'unpopular' pairing? Why! It's always such a pain to find fics to feed my obsessions on those pairings.
I think I'll install Photoshop once exam is finished. Then I can start making icons myself and need not depend on my ever-busy sister to make me some new ones.

First Post !
I have had this journal for more than 1 year and yet I have been too lazy to post.
My sister has been bugging me to post her icons in exchange for her making me some. So, these are some of it.
